Embrace Your 'No' Era

I’ve decided I’m entering into my No era
My I’m not going to explain myself further era
My I don’t need to justify my reasons
Over explain my emotions
Or smile all the while biting my tongue
My No era is something I’ve earned
Something I’m choosing
Just like my fate
Because I’m tired of burning myself to keep others warm
Tired of tiredness
The exhaustion of pouring into a cup that’s only taken from
From men who need to heal their mother wound rather than chase love from a woman
And from pretending that others are right in their naivety
Their lack of boundaries
Or awareness
Because I’m done saying yes
Or really nothing at all
I’m done fearing the villain
The crone
The wild woman who finds fulfillment within her self no man necessary
And so I breathe deep
And say no
Not just for myself
But my daughters
And maybe their daughters someday
Because no is a complete sentence
And it’s incredible just how liberating it is.
